Juna holds her Ph.D in soil carbon and nitrogen cycle and greenhouse gas efflux with the Agriculture Institute at ETH Zurich. She specifically looked into spatiotemporal variability of carbon and nitrogen dynamics in floodplain soils of peri-alpine river. Prior to her Ph.D, she did her Master in Environmental Sciences with specialization in water quality management from IHE Delft in the Netherlands. She also has a post-graduate diploma in gender studies which she also strongly advocates in the NepSAS team. She has worked more than 6 years in the environment and rural development sector in Nepal and now, she is the co-founder of ClimateRe – an organisation based in Switzerland which promotes equitable access to knowledge, technology and finance against climate risks.
Juna is a firm believer in liberalism, equality, ethical consumerism and sustainable lifestyle practices. She tries to spend her leisure time either reading or in silence hiking the Alps but her analytical thinking pose a constant distraction to attain that equilibrium.
